Ø       Manage numerous technical projects within the Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Voice Architecture, & Network Planning disciplines. These projects include, but are not limited to a Broadsoft R20SP1 software upgrade, a Toll Free Network Tandem redesign and implementation, a SBC platform build for 60K sessions of IP customer Access and Peering transport, and a Sonus GSX Tandem consolidation.

Principal Project Engineer▪ New York, NY5/2006–12/2006

Ø       Traffic engineered and designed end to end interconnection of a PSTN OC48 transport network for a Cisco BTS implementation, which provides Comcast Digital Voice service to over 70,000 subscribers.  Developed transport and trunking sections of the SICP package and documented PSTN data used to create low level design source code for the Cisco BTS 10000 softswitch platform. Project budget: $600K.

Ø       Performed vendor management duties, which includes transport contract negotiation, Request For Quote solicitations, and management of circuit implementation for transport interconnection across 7 markets and 20 rate centers to ILEC Tandems/End Offices, CLEC, and carrier neutral points of presence.

Ø       Lead a team of 5 Transport and Traffic Engineers in the trunk design of each assigned local market.

Ø       Interfaced with Sr. Project Team to develop schedule and form integration strategy for the implementation of the PSTN network to be terminated at a Tellabs DAX.

Ø       Utilized VISIO to produce interconnection diagrams, which included OCx, DS3, and T1 circuit transport for interconnection to CLEC, ILEC, OS, DA, and SS7 service providers.

Ø       Program managed several implementation and staffing projects across multiple functional organizations including Professional Services, Network Construction, and IT Operations. 

Ø       Lead the contractual project design of multiple Metropolitan Area T1 over fiber Networks utilizing an Adtran Opti- 6100 ADM architecture.  The $250K project included solicitation of dark fiber RFP, carrier neutral collocation, EF&I vendor quotes, and research and development of suitable transport equipment.

Ø       Created standard rack layout design to include remote management capabilities, power distribution, and communication cable termination and distribution.

Ø       Managed network decommission of a national data network for a national CLEC.  Provided multiple crews thru teaming arrangements for the decommissioning of 36 sites in 13 states.

Ø       Responsibilities include P & L management, project budgeting, vendor management, and RFP response.

Program Manager- Site Acquisition and Management ▪ Atlanta, GA10/1998– 12/2005

Ø       Functional Project Manager for the implementation of a national MPLS backbone network to provide enterprise level Dedicated Internet Access across 32 markets.  Developed the work breakdown structure to monitorall activities and ensure the project remained under budget and finished ahead of schedule.  Negotiated the collocation contracts and services with potential vendors.  Produced Engineering Cabling Packages for pre-staging and 3^rd party hardware rack build out of Riverstone 8600s, the Juniper M40s, and Cisco 12416 to include the delivery of Ethernet, DS3, and OCx services. Project budget $3M.

Ø       Led KMC’s Network Normalization project by completing the change out of 90 Extreme packetizedswitch nodesto a Cisco 4506 Catalyst Switch platform.  Consulted team members and similar projects to capture all task and made assignments to allotted personnel resources.  Received and reviewed cost estimates and risk assessment used to develop final project plan. Project budget $700K 

Ø       Performed technical support, Asset management, configuration management, and troubleshooting duties for the Juniper M160, Juniper M40, Cisco 7507, Cisco 12008, Cisco 12416, Cisco 7206, Cisco 4506, Riverstone 8600, Cisco AS5814, Cisco 5400, Extreme Black Diamonds, Cisco 3640, and Nortel CVX 1800.

Ø       Planned a national software and memory upgrade to KMC’s Layer 3 switch network.  Created scope of work and solicited vendor quotation. Managed four Field Engineers and collocation vendors to perform the software upgrades in scheduled maintenance window.

 

Program Manager, Construction Management

Ø       Managed a team of 40+ Construction Managers, Construction Supervisors, Project Managers, Procurement Coordinators, and financial support persons, which coordinated operation, administration, maintenance, and provisioning on all KMC OSP facilities.

Ø       Responsible for managing and network planning of 37 city networks consisting of 1700 route miles of fiber totaling $1.7 Billion in assets.

Ø       Reviewed and approved all capital and maintenance OSP spending budgets.

Ø       Managed a portfolio of 30 projects on a monthly basis, including network augmentations, maintenance, and customer network integration projects.

Ø       Developed project budgets of over 200 laterals utilizing the bottom up approach.  Worked with the finance department to forecast and produce a five year operational budget for all KMC OSP facilities.
